Plans to Fill Senator Steve Kaiser’s Legislative Seat

After the resignation of Senator Steve Kaiser late last week, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors will now select his replacement from a slate of candidates nominated by the Legislative District 2 Precinct Committeemen. Nominees include former lawmaker Shawna Bolick, former Congressional candidate Josh Barnett, and Legislative District 2 Chair Paul Carver. The appointee will only serve the remaining 18 months left in Kaiser’s term before having to run for the seat in the highly competitive district.
